USES
Did
you know that over half of the ammonia produced in the United States
comes from facilities right here in Louisiana? More importantly,
the ammonia we produce is used to make fertilizers that help farmers
grow enough food to feed the world.

About
80 percent of all ammonia produced is used to make nitrogen fertilizers,
which are used to grow food. The vegetables you have for dinner
every night are made possible by fertilizers made with ammonia.
Because of fertilizer, farmers have healthier crops and higher yields,
enabling them to produce enough food to fill the dinner tables of
the entire world.
Louisiana's
ammonia producers account for about 30 percent of the ammonia produced
in the United States.
Ammonia
is also important in the production of household cleaners, animal
feed, fire retardant products, medicine, pulp and paper products,
nylon, plastics and air bags. But ammonia's most frequent and most
important use is in fertilizer.
The
Louisiana Ammonia Producers...It's what we bring to the table.
